Wheat Straw
Spring Crop Straw
Barley Straw
Wheat straw comes from mainly group 4 winter wheat feed varieties. All crops are desiccated with roundup to ensure an even kill of the wheat plant so that the straw is dead all the way to the base before cutting. This helps lower the number of green stalks in the straw, therefore lowering the moisture content of the straw resulting in less clapped bales.
Barley straw comes from mainly 2 row feed verities. All straw is turned prior to baling to ensure moisture content is low and quality is high. As with wheat all barley is desiccated with roundup.
Products & Services
Spring crops include both spring wheat and spring barley. Dependant on the rotation either one of these will be available.
As mentioned all crops are desiccated with roundup. This allows for a more even kill and helps reduce the amount of green material in the straw which can cause an increased moisture content of the bales. All straw is turned prior to baling to allow good aeration and drying. All straw is barn stored throughout the year. All straw is baled into quadrants (70cm x 120cm), 6 bands.
